SYNERGY HomeCare Announces Newest Franchise North of Salt Lake City

January 23, 2024 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. - SYNERGY HomeCare has announced its newest location just north of Salt Lake City, SYNERGY HomeCare of Bountiful.

The company is owned and operated by Will and Nanci Christensen. Will is a 27-year military veteran and professional caregiver, and his wife Nanci is a former office administrator and mother to their five children.

Headquartered at 3263 S. Highway 89, Suite 200B in Bountiful, UT., the company assists residents of Davis County and the communities of North Salt Lake with a wide variety of non-medical care options, from companion care to personal care and respite care. The Christensens’ military ties have also provided them with the tools to offer additional aid to other military veterans.

The Christensens recognized a growing need in their community for these services, particularly among Baby Boomers.

Will is no stranger to providing care for large numbers of people. During his military service, he was assigned as Commander of a Warrior Transition Unit in the Army, which cared for over 300 soldiers who returned from Iraq and Afghanistan with injuries or illnesses. He oversaw a company of professional military caregivers, and it was here that he developed a passion for helping others in need.

Once Will returned to Reserve status and civilian life, he pursued this passion by taking a job in a skilled nursing facility, where he trained to become a facility administrator. In the seven years since, he has been fully committed to improving the care options in his local community. He previously started a home health company specifically focused on veterans, and is now bringing in his family to help operate the newest SYNERGY HomeCare location in Bountiful.

While Will rose through the ranks in the military and in civilian services, Nanci cared for their five children and worked in office administration roles. Now, for the first time, the Christensens’ SYNERGY HomeCare office will allow the family to work together.

“We’re truly a family-owned business, with all of us serving in one way or another,” said Nanci. “Being a military family, it can be difficult watching your loved one work from afar, especially when you know all the good they’re doing but you don’t get to physically see it. Now, I not only get to spend time with my husband, but I also get to work next to him while we bring our community and our family closer together.”

Veteran care will also be a point of emphasis for the Christensen’s. Will’s military background as well as his experience starting a veteran-oriented care company has provided him with in-depth knowledge on the subject, and it’s also where he finds the most gratification. As a part of the Community Care Network, which is a list of VA-approved care providers, SYNERGY HomeCare will help complement Will’s dedication to serving the military community with their comprehensive Veteran Care Program.

“The military will always be a part of who I am,” said Will. “The men and women who I have the pleasure of serving alongside are some of the greatest people I know and having the ability to help them and their families isn’t something I’d overlook. I understand the complexities that come with transitioning back to civilian life, especially when dealing with lasting ailment or injury. I proudly dedicate myself to simplifying that transition and providing our service members with the help that they deserve for serving us.”

In the Davis County area, many residents lack a local support system and need to rely on caregivers for assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping, or going for walks. Some even require personal care such as help with bathing, dressing, or using the toilet.

SYNERGY HomeCare offers competitive hourly rates in addition to flexible shifts perfect for both college students or recent graduates and people who are retired and looking to stay active.
