Massage Heights Serves as Cornerstone Partner for the Massage Makes Me Happy and Healthy Initiative

March 19, 2024 // Franchising.com // SAN ANTONIO - For the third year, Massage Heights serves as the cornerstone partners of the Massage Makes Me Happy and Healthy initiative under the Global Wellness Institute (GWI). Massage Makes Me Happy and Healthy is a global movement that aims to celebrate the healing powers of massage therapy and promote its benefits through research and education, advocacy and global awareness.

This annual initiative is celebrated during March, leading up to Global Massage Makes Me Happy & Healthy Day, which is recognized on March 20. The theme for 2024 is ‘Bolstering Your Mental Health and Wellness with Massage’ to raise awareness of the research showing why massage is beneficial for the mind, body and spirit According to the latest Axios-Ipsos American Health Index, Americans now see poor mental health as one of the biggest threats to public health.

"By committing to a regular schedule of receiving massage therapy, individuals can reclaim control over their physical health as well as their mental health," said CG Funk, Chief Therapeutic Experience Officer at Massage Heights. "Our continued collaboration with the Massage Makes Me Happy and Healthy initiative underscores our commitment to championing therapeutic wellness services and sharing the value of the healing power of touch."

In continuing this partnership, Massage Heights has committed to raising awareness of the benefits of massage therapy and the profession of massage therapists, as well as the profound impact massage therapy can have on mental health. By providing education on the benefits, the partnership aims to emphasize the holistic value of massage therapy within the broader spectrum of wellness practices.

Dr. Tiffany Field, Founder and Director of the University of Miami School of Medicine's Touch Research Institute and medical spokesperson for GWI's Massage Makes Me Happy initiative shares, "After 40 years of research, we have yet to find a chronic or systematic human malady that massage does not aid."
