CARSTAR Kicks Off 30th Anniversary Celebration in Canada with the 2024 CARSTAR Conference

July 11, 2024 // Franchising.com // HAMILTON, ON - CARSTAR Canada kicked off its 30th anniversary celebration in style at the 2024 CARSTAR Conference: Velocity! The first day featured CARSTAR’s traditional charity walk, dynamic opening ceremonies, service awards and a special 30th birthday bash.

The 2024 CARSTAR Conference: Velocity is being held July 9 through 11, 2024, in breathtaking Victoria, BC. Victoria’s unique character comes from its 150-year history and its British colonial heritage, which is very evident today.

“Today kicked off an incredible celebration of our heritage that was built with purpose and direction, positioning us for where we are today as Canada’s leader in the collision repair industry,” said Michael Macaluso, EVP and PC&G Group President, Driven Brands. “As we honour our anniversary year and look toward the next 30+ years of our business, we are only heading in one direction: forward. During our time together, we are excited to learn, grow and strengthen our bonds to better support our network and drive forward.”

The 2024 CARSTAR Canada Conference opened with the Harbour Hustle, a charity walk along the beautiful Victoria Harbour which saw the BC Lions dance team cheering the walkers on along the way. Over $7,000 was raised at the walk, with proceeds benefiting cystic fibrosis (CF) research, advocacy, and care. CARSTAR Canada has been supporting Cystic Fibrosis Canada for over 25 years after the granddaughter of a franchise partner was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. From there, the relationship blossomed as owners, industry partners, and communities across the country came together to raise over $5 million for cystic fibrosis research, care and advocacy. CARSTAR also recognized the top fundraisers from the past year at this event which includes:

After the walk, attendees joined the CARSTAR team, vendor partners, and industry leaders for the opening ceremonies featuring a land acknowledgement ceremony for the lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers, members of the CARSTAR Newmarket family Ashley and Ryan Deokinandan, a recognition ceremony for franchise partners’ years of service, followed by the opening night festivities featuring a spectacular birthday bash for CARSTAR Canada’s 30th year.

On Wednesday, the general sessions will feature the CARSTAR leadership team, a Restore the Star panel discussion and then will be followed by a presentation from industry keynote speaker, Ryan Mandell, Director of Claims Performance Auto Physical Damage Solutions at Mitchell International, to discuss industry trends and the needs of the shop of the future.

The closing day will feature more general and breakout sessions, with the popular vendor tradeshow in the afternoon. CARSTAR will host the glamorous 2024 Awards Gala that evening, complete with a 90s theme to honour the year of CARSTAR’s founding.
