Dill Dinkers™ Signs Lease in Hilton Head
August 19, 2024 // Franchising.com // HILTON HEAD, S.C.- Dill Dinkers is proud to announce its first facility in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The space is located at 95 Mathews Drive, Hilton Head, South Carolina 29926, replacing a portion of the former Sam’s Club. It will have eight indoor Pro- Cushion® courts with fences, an event space, a ball machine, a pro shop, and a state-of-the-art reservation system powered by CourtReserve for members and visitors. The forthcoming location will also offer clinics, private and semi-private lessons, open play, round robins, leagues, and rentals for private events for players. The club will also provide business advertising, a corporate wellness program, and the opportunity to host employee and client events for local businesses.
Dill Dinkers Hilton Head will be operated by the prominent local pickleball pro from South Africa, Graeme Joffe, who has been teaching pickleball and tennis on the island for over seven years.
“For several years, pickleball players have been saying we need an indoor facility on the island and it’s now happening,” said Joffe. “I can’t wait to get started and to create a unique pickleball experience for people of all skill levels to have fun and improve their skills.”
Behind the development of the Hilton Head facility are the Pickleball Brothers LLC., which includes Scott Johnson, Max Johnson, Zach Larichiuta, and Dr. Wayne Johnson. The team is backed by two mortgage lenders, an engineer, and a physician dedicated to bringing indoor pickleball to their communities. Scott and Max reside in Connecticut, while Zach and Wayne live in South Carolina. They formed Pickleball Brothers LLC to develop the entire coastal region of South Carolina from Myrtle Beach to Savannah, Georgia. In Connecticut, the team will develop Dill Dinkers throughout the central region, with its first club in Simsbury, opening this September. Hilton Head will be the group’s first location in South Carolina, with an expected opening date in the late Fall
“We are thrilled to be on our way to opening one of the first indoor pickleball clubs in Hilton Head,” said Dr. Wayne Johnson. “It’s more than just a business to us, we value our community and hosting a place where people feel included and can have a strong connection, especially now with such a digital presence. We look forward to building relationships with our Dill Dinkers business and spreading the joy of pickleball to all.”
Also, as the founders of a non-profit based in Connecticut called Honor Connor | Hold Onto Hope, the brothers have a strong connection to their community and are passionate about improving the mental health of others. Through both Honor Connor and Dill Dinkers, they hope to share the benefits pickleball and camaraderie have on mental, social, and physical health.
