Breakout Cheeseburger Slider Brand Solidifies Five New Cans in Tucson

September 04, 2024 // Franchising.com // TUCSON, Ariz.— Smalls Sliders, the industry-disrupting cheeseburger slider brand, is sliding thru Tucson with its latest multi-unit agreement. The five-Can development deal was inked with experienced entrepreneurs Talha and Rehman Ahmed alongside their three business partners.

This group brings a powerful mix of business insight and restaurant industry experience to this endeavor. With a deep understanding of restaurant management, financial strategies, and operational best practices, they are committed to actively engaging in daily on-site processes. In addition, this dynamic team leverages their extensive background having successfully managed over 140 locations for prominent brands like KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut.

“Having owned and operated various restaurant concepts, we were eager to invest in a brand that embodies excitement and allows us to play an active role in its growth from the ground up,” said Rehman. “Smalls Sliders stood out to us with its carefully curated menu, efficient operations and unique Can buildout. Additionally, the strong partnership we've built with the Smalls Sliders team has solidified our belief in the brand’s potential for nationwide success. We are thrilled to move forward with site selection and can't wait to bring the Smalls Sliders experience to Tucson.”

This will be one of two agreements signed by Talha, Rehman and their business partners. In addition to a four-Can agreement in El Paso, Texas, this venture in Arizona will aim to target communities across Tucson including Marana, Casas Adobes, Oro Valley and Drexel Heights.

“Arizona holds a ton of potential for Smalls Sliders,” said Don Crocker, Chief Development Officer of Smalls Sliders. “This latest agreement in Tucson marks the second deal for this state, which will help further our brand awareness across Arizona. This ownership group of seasoned restauranteurs will be key in developing our brand in new communities and we’re confident in their ability to successfully run these 5 Cans.”

Smalls Sliders opened its first signature ‘Smorange™’ colored Can in 2019. Since its inception, Smalls Sliders has disrupted the QSR industry with its stacked leadership team and robust development pipeline, furthering its rapid growth trajectory with more than 300 Cans open or under development. The brand continues to garner high-level industry recognition, with Nation’s Restaurant News featuring Smalls Sliders in its “Breakout Brands of 2023”, and QSR Magazine ranking the brand in its annual QSR 50 Contenders list in 2023 and 2024. Other accolades include ranking on Entrepreneur magazine’s “Top New & Emerging Franchises” list in 2023 and 2024.
