AtWork Celebrates Veterans Day
November 06, 2024 // Franchising.com // KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – AtWork® is celebrating Veterans Day by announcing growth with veteran franchisees. With 16 new franchise owners joining the AtWork family in 2024, 30 percent of them are military veterans.
“We are incredibly proud of the veterans who have joined our AtWork family this year,” said Jason Leverant, President and COO of AtWork. “Veterans bring unique leadership and teamwork skills. It is inspiring to watch them grow their businesses and positively impact their communities.”
The International Franchise Association’s VetFran network also recognizes AtWork with a 5-star rating. The rating is based on several factors including the brand’s 20% discount on the franchise fee for veterans, five or more years in franchising, at least 50 open units, and a minimum of an 80% retention rate of franchise owners for at least three years.
One of the recent veteran signings includes Ashley Russell, a U.S. Air Force National Guard veteran. She opened her AtWork location in Panama City Beach in July. Besides her military experience as a medic in the Air Force National Guard, Russell brought more than 20 years of experience in sales, accounting, and finance. Russell’s decision to franchise with AtWork came from her desire to leverage her skills to become her own boss while receiving the support required to thrive.
“The military gave me the tools I needed to succeed in life, and franchising with AtWork has allowed me to apply those skills in a way that makes a difference in my community,” said Russell.
With Tyndall Air Force Base in the area and Panama City being one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, the veteran population is significant in the area. Russell looks forward to helping fellow veterans find meaningful work, especially through her recent partnership with CareerSource of Gulf Coast, which supports military families and veterans.
“As we honor those who served for Veterans Day, we also applaud the veterans who have chosen AtWork,” said Leverant. “Their dedication to service, leadership, and community impact makes them an invaluable part of our network, and we are honored to support them in their entrepreneurial journeys.”
