Angry Chickz Brings the Heat to Pennsylvania With Expansion Deal
February 05, 2025 // Franchising.com // SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. – Angry Chickz is planting its first flag in the Northeast. This expansion into Pennsylvania is a significant milestone, introducing the bold flavors of Angry Chickz to a fresh audience.
New franchisee partners Eric and Heather May of May Brands — experienced entrepreneurs and 1st class multi-unit franchisees with Dunkin Donuts and Jersey Mikes — have signed an Area Development Agreement in Pennsylvania. This deal will bring the brand’s Nashville hot chicken sliders, tenders and irresistible sides to communities across the state.
“We chose Angry Chickz because of not only the quality of product and the success of their restaurants, but also for the team they’ve assembled,” said Franchise Owner Eric May, a native of Dallas, Pennsylvania. “We’re elated to bring Angry Chickz to our portfolio and to introduce their unique brand of Nashville hot chicken to the East Coast and Pennsylvania.”
Pennsylvania’s first Angry Chickz will open in 2025. Angry Chickz Vice President of Franchise Development Mike LaRue values the Mays’ extensive experience and is eager to continue working with them to bring the Angry Chickz culture to the people of Pennsylvania.
“We couldn't be more excited to partner with Heather and Eric and their organization. A previous Franchisee of the Year for the Dunkin’ Donuts system, we are honored to welcome them into the Angry Chickz family,” said LaRue. “Their dedication to their culture and their people are in complete alignment with our goal of connecting with more communities, creating new job opportunities and introducing new communities to The Most Interesting Chicken in the World.”
Founded in 2018, Angry Chickz has quickly become a cult favorite for its flavorful and fiery chicken sandwiches, tenders and legendary mac & cheese.
