STRONG Pilates Unveils 50-Studio UK Expansion with English Cricket Legend Stuart Broad at the helm

February 25, 2025 // Franchising.com // STRONG Pilates has announced a strategic restructure of its operations to support the opening of 50 new locations over the next three years.

Co-founders of STRONG Pilates, Mark Armstrong and Michael Ramsey said: "We're intensifying our focus on this key market to provide the UK community with a fitness format which, according to the latest ClassPass data, combines in-demand genres including Pilates, Strength Training, Cycling and Rowing.”

STRONG Pilates currently operates three sites across London and one in Dublin, with STRONG Wimbledon launched in early 2025, marking the first of 50 planned locations under the new operational framework. Its offering combines low-impact reformer Pilates with high-intensity cardio training via the globally exclusive Rowformer and Bikeformer machines (a reformer bed with a rower or bike on the end).

STRONG Pilates has also launched new strength conditioning equipment in January 2025 which allows members to perform squats and deadlifts with substantial loads on the Rowformer and Bikeformer. This combines the two most popular fitness genres in the UK - Pilates and Strength Training - in one workout.

STRONG Pilates’ low impact, high intensity format has attracted the world’s most prominent athletes, including former English cricketer Stuart Broad who will join STRONG Pilates as their official ambassador in 2025.

Broad said: “I wish STRONG Pilates was around when I was playing cricket as it truly provides both mind and body balance. You have the Pilates element which controls the movement and relaxation in breathing, combined with the aerobic which pushes the body forward. STRONG has kept my mind and body in great nick, so it's exciting to share the burn with the UK fitness community."

Armstrong and Ramsey said that since inception, STRONG Pilates had significantly shaken up the Pilates genre, particularly among the male demographic who traditionally make up a small percentage of global Pilates-goers.
