Children’s Lighthouse of Woodforest Welcomes New Owners and Newly Renovated Early Learning School

March 18, 2026 // Franchising.com // WOODFOREST, Texas – Children’s Lighthouse Early Learning Schools® announces new ownership under husband-and-wife team Raghu and Suma Ahobilam. As parents of two daughters, the couple brings both professional expertise and a personal commitment to creating a warm, enriching environment for children and families in the growing Woodforest community.

The Ahobilams are engineers by training, with backgrounds spanning technical sales and supply chain management. Their combined experience brings a thoughtful, systems-driven approach to school operations, while their role as parents grounds every decision in quality care, meaningful education and a nurturing culture where children feel supported and inspired.

“As parents, we understand how important it is to find a school that truly feels like an extension of your family,” said Suma. “When we discovered Children’s Lighthouse, the warmth and approachability of the environment immediately stood out. It’s family-oriented and aligns with how we want our own children to learn and grow.”

Across all age groups, Children’s Lighthouse of Woodforest delivers its proprietary Lighthouse Pathways® curriculum, which blends academics, character education, and confidence-building. Instruction is rooted in Bloom’s Taxonomy, with age-appropriate learning experiences that emphasize responsibility, respect and citizenship. Small class settings encourage participation, collaboration and critical thinking, helping children thrive academically and socially.

As part of their ownership transition, Raghu and Suma are investing in renovations and upgrades to the school, including refreshed learning spaces, new furnishings and enhanced classroom environments designed to support student engagement and comfort. The improvements are ongoing with more scheduled to roll out in the 2026-2027 school year. Using their expertise, the Ahobilams are also incorporating music curriculum while expanding Spanish curriculum with dedicated full-time staff.

The couple also plans to bring their personal passions directly into the school experience. Suma, an accomplished music educator who has taught internationally and provided private instruction for years, will introduce music education and creative expression into the program. Raghu, who actively mentors youth and supports middle and high school students academically and socially, looks forward to being involved in student development and community outreach.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Raghu and Suma as the new owners of Children’s Lighthouse of Woodforest,” said Michael Brown, President of Children’s Lighthouse. “Their dedication to children, hands-on involvement and commitment to continuous improvement reflect exactly what our brand stands for. We’re confident their leadership will have a positive and lasting impact on families in the community.”

The mission of Children’s Lighthouse is to provide franchisees with the tools, guidance, and support needed to operate a successful business while offering children a safe, loving place to learn, build confidence, and form meaningful relationships.
