Synergy Homecare Opens Newest Location in Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs

May 18, 2026 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. – SYNERGY HomeCare has announced its newest location in Chicago’s southwest suburbs, SYNERGY HomeCare in Plainfield.

The company is owned and operated by Illinois natives and husband-and-wife duo, Bailey and Kyana Wilkinson. Kyana already has experience working as a home care aide at another SYNERGY HomeCare franchise nearby, and now, after a lifetime of providing care, she and Bailey are ready to do so as the owners of their own agency.

The Wilkinsons and their team of compassionate caregivers will assist residents in the region with a wide variety of non-medical, in-home care services, from companion care to personal care, respite care, and post-surgical/procedure non-medical care.

Kyana’s previous experience working at one of the largest SYNERGY HomeCare operators in the franchise network opened her eyes to the growing demand for in-home care services, particularly among Baby Boomers. U.S. Census statistics show that 10,000 Baby Boomers are turning 65 every day and that by 2030, there will be more than 70 million people over 65. According to the AARP, over 80% of this demographic report wanting to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

Beginning at just 15 years old, Kyana was thrust into a caregiving role when her father was diagnosed with ALS. Before she even graduated high school, she became familiar with the role that home care professionals play in helping to maintain independence and dignity. She cites this experience as what defined the trajectory of her life, as she would later go on to become a Registered Nurse and professional home care aide, before eventually obtaining a Master of Business Administration.

“I carry my father with me in everything that I do,” said Kyana. “Caring for others is part of who I am. Whether it’s in a professional environment or in the comfort of their own homes, servant leadership brings me peace and allows me to show my love and care. I’m so excited to be a leader in this space, and I hope to use my talents to be a voice for those who need support, especially clients battling ALS, Parkinson’s, or MS.”

While Kyana uses her industry knowledge to handle clinical oversight, her husband Bailey will leverage his background in data analytics to oversee operations. Bailey also holds a Master of Science in Data Analytics as well as a bachelor’s degree in computer physics, which has helped him land senior positions in the finance sector. Supporting the Wilkinsons is also a full-time office manager who can help focus on administrative tasks and ensure that someone is always available when a client calls.

“Kyana and I have worked together before, but never in a capacity that means so much to us emotionally,” said Bailey. “The folks at SYNERGY, especially the ones that Kyana is already familiar with, gave us the utmost confidence that this is the right place for our family to be. Now, we look forward to being the ultimate caregiving resource for our community, and to help others learn about the possibilities that are available to them when it comes to keeping loved ones happy, safe, and healthy.”

Kyana has already established a strong reputation in Chicago’s southwest suburbs. She was recognized with the Career Achievement Award from Heartland Community College for her professional accomplishments while pursuing her Master’s Degree, and was recently named to a top Leaders of Distinction list by the Pantagraph and McLean County Chamber of Commerce in 2023. She is also the former Vice President of the Black Nurses Association of Central Illinois, where she served for eight years.

With these strong local ties, the Wilkinsons hope to reach nearby residents who require caregivers for additional assistance cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping or going for walks. Some even require personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing or using the toilet.
