Sandbox VR Continues to Expand with its First Permanent Arizona Location in Gilbert, Opening June 5th

PHOENIX, May 29, 2026 // PRNewswire // -- Sandbox VR is opening its first permanent Arizona location in Gilbert, AZ, at SanTan Village. The new location will open on Friday, June 5.

Sandbox VR operates locations globally through a mix of corporate-owned and franchised venues, with a substantial monthly audience. The company has scaled to more than 80 global locations across five continents and 12 countries since launching in 2016.

Sandbox VR offers immersive, group-oriented virtual reality experiences. The company was founded by developers with backgrounds at EA, Sony, and Ubisoft, and provides full-body immersion through original and licensed content, including Stranger Things: Catalyst, in collaboration with Netflix, and Age of Dinosaurs in collaboration with the Natural History Museum of London and experts in paleontology.

The new Gilbert location, located at 1835 S. San Tan Village Pkwy, is more than four thousand square feet of entertainment space featuring four private rooms for virtual reality gameplay, where groups of up to six guests suit up with headsets, haptic vests, and motion sensors for full-body immersion. The Sandbox VR technology allows players to see and physically interact with one another, creating the feeling of living inside the action together. The experience extends from arrival to exit, with personalized highlight videos allowing guests to relive and share their adventures.

Guests at the Gilbert location can also enjoy a 1,000-square-foot patio, ideal for gathering before the experience or private rentals. 

Guests can choose from a range of immersive experiences, including Age of Dinosaurs, which features realistic 3D dinosaurs in virtual reality. Additional experiences include Stranger Things: Catalyst, Rebel Moon: The Descent, Deadwood PHOBIA, Deadwood Valley, Deadwood Mansion, Squid Game Virtuals, Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire, Curse of Davy Jones, Amber Sky 2088 and UFL: Unbound Fighting League.
