Bojangles Approaches 900th Restaurant Milestone Following Impressive Franchise Growth During the First Half of 2026

July 22, 2026 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bojangles completed a first half of 2026 with 25 new restaurant openings across 12 states. It is also approaching a milestone with the opening of its 900th location later this year.

The company’s recent growth trajectory represents a balanced mix of strategic market entries and continued development in existing territories. Along with entering Michigan and Oklahoma for the first time and making a triumphant return to New York, Bojangles expanded its footprint across several areas of the Carolinas, Arkansas, Florida, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio and Texas, reinforcing its long-term strategy of partnering with sophisticated, multi-unit operators in high-opportunity regions.

“It’s been incredible to introduce Bojangles to so many new communities beyond our Carolina roots,” said Jose Armario, Chief Executive Officer of Bojangles. “We’ve kicked off the year with 25 openings, including eight company-operated locations, and we’re not stopping yet. We’re tremendously proud of our 900th restaurant milestone on the horizon, and we’t wouldn't be where we are today without the dedication of our team, our franchisees and our loyal guests. We look forward to building on this momentum in the second half of the year.”

Looking ahead, Bojangles also has announced several additional openings planned for the remainder of 2026, including first-market locations in Arizona, Kansas and Missouri and new restaurant openings in Morganville, New Jersey; Upper Marlboro, Maryland; Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Farmingville, New York.

In tandem, Bojangles recently introduced the “Carolina Legend” interior décor across locations in key markets, bringing the heritage of the brand to life. From unique, Bojangles-themed visuals to local elements from the community, the new design reflects the brand’s efforts to establish its presence in new markets beyond its Carolina roots, while maintaining the brand personality that has defined Bojangles for nearly 50 years.

"We've built tremendous momentum by expanding with experienced franchisees in markets where we see strong opportunity," said Brooks Speirs, Vice President of Franchise Growth at Bojangles. "Guests across the country are embracing our bold flavors the same way our longtime fans have for decades. We're just getting started, and we look forward to bringing our Southern hospitality to key regions as we continue this exciting growth."

For nearly 50 years, Bojangles has been a staple in the Southeast, offering iconic menu items such as hand-breaded chicken, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits and mouthwatering breakfast served all day. As Bojangles expands, the brand is focused on partnering with seasoned franchise owners and restaurant operators to grow its footprint in new and emerging markets. Individuals interested in franchising with Bojangles should possess strong financial capacity, relevant business or restaurant experience, a sophisticated professional background, and the ability to open at least three locations in their market.
