Tierra Encantada Enters Ohio, Marking Continued National Growth and Franchise Expansion

August 26, 2026 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Tierra Encantada has officially entered Ohio with the opening of its first two corporate-owned childcare centers, marking the company’s 21st location open nationwide and supporting its continued franchise expansion into one of the country's fastest-growing markets.

The first center opened this summer in Powell, Ohio, with a second location in Columbus scheduled to open later this summer. Together, the two centers establish Tierra Encantada's first operational footprint in Ohio and support the company's long-term strategy of expanding through both corporate development and franchising.

According to the 2026 Franchising Economic Outlook, Ohio ranks among the nation's leading states for franchise growth, driven by favorable business conditions, expanding communities, and long-term economic opportunity. At the same time, demand for high-quality childcare continues to outpace supply, creating opportunities for operators seeking to invest in an essential service with consistent long-term demand.

"As we continue expanding across the country, we're focused on entering markets where families are actively seeking a higher standard of early education and where our franchise partners can build long-term success," said Kristen Denzer, Founder and CEO of Tierra Encantada. "Ohio is exactly that kind of market. Our corporate locations establish the brand, demonstrate our operating model, and create momentum for future franchise growth.

Founded in 2013, Tierra Encantada has built an early education model centered on full Spanish immersion, play-based STEAM learning, globally inspired scratch-made meals, and intentionally designed learning environments that support the development of the whole child. The company operates in multiple states with several centers open and additional locations in development.

Tierra Encantada offers a Spanish immersion early education experience designed to help children become bilingual, build confidence, and enter kindergarten prepared for long-term success.

"Parents today are looking for more than childcare; they're looking for an educational foundation that gives their children a lifelong advantage," Denzer said. "We're proud to bring our immersive Spanish learning environment to Ohio while creating opportunities for entrepreneurs who want to build meaningful businesses that positively impact their communities."

The Powell center is located at 10726 Sawmill Parkway, Powell, OH 43065. The second Ohio location, located at 8360 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43235, is currently accepting enrollment ahead of its opening.
