The Flying Biscuit Café Signs Lease for First Magnolia, Texas Location

August 31, 2026 // Franchising.com // The Flying Biscuit Café has signed a lease for its first café in Magnolia, Texas, at 5667 FM 1488, Suite D, Magnolia, TX 77354. Franchise partners Mitchell and Heather Wagner will own and operate the restaurant, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The site sits on FM 1488, Magnolia’s main commercial corridor, in Magnolia Village, alongside established local businesses.

The Wagners picked Magnolia before they picked a site. Both grew up in small Texas towns, and the two were married at The Meekermark, a few minutes from the new café. They live in the community they’re about to serve.

“We chose Flying Biscuit because it’s more than a restaurant — it’s a place where community comes together over great food and genuine hospitality. Magnolia already holds a special place in our hearts; we were married at The Meekermark here, and we’ve dreamed of putting down roots in this town ever since. Having both grown up in small towns in Texas, we know firsthand how much a place to gather means to a community, and we can’t wait to give Magnolia a spot where families and friends can create memories of their own,” said Mitchell Wagner, franchise partner, The Flying Biscuit Café of Magnolia.

Wagner is a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Texas State University. He spent 27 years leading sales and operations for two of the country’s largest retailers, running businesses with more than $100 million in revenue and teams of 300-plus. Heather Wagner joins him as co-owner. The two first ate at a Flying Biscuit on a trip to Charlotte and have been regulars since.

Magnolia is the first of two cafés the Wagners have committed to develop under their agreement with the brand.

David J. Littwitz of Littwitz Investments, Inc. and Britton Lankford of The Woodmont Company brokered the transaction.
