Arthur Murray™ Dance Studios Signs Four-Studio Development Agreement to Expand in Florida
September 22, 2026 // Franchising.com // CORAL GABLES, Fla – Arthur Murray™ Dance Studios (Arthur Murray), the world’s largest dance studio franchise, today announced that franchisee Alex Camargo has signed a multi-unit development agreement to open four new studios across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. Camargo currently owns and operates an Arthur Murray studio in Melbourne, Florida, and the new agreement marks a significant reinvestment in the brand.
The deal gives Camargo development rights across Jupiter, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Port St. Lucie and Stuart. The first studio is slated to open in the Jupiter or Palm Beach Gardens market, with additional studios to follow across the rest of the territory.
“When an existing franchisee decides to reinvest their own money and time into Arthur Murray, that says a lot about where this brand is headed,” said Gary Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of Arthur Murray Dance Studios. “Alex knows this business from the inside and has done an outstanding job building joy and community at her current studio. We’re proud to have Alex as part of the Arthur Murray family and are excited for her as she expands her presence across the state.”
Camargo’s deal comes during a record year for Arthur Murray. The leader in social dance recently marked the most successful development period in its history, opening more than 30 studios through the first three quarters of 2026. It also builds on the 32 franchise agreements signed with existing franchisees in the fourth quarter of 2025, with nearly all of those studios already open, a pace that is rare in franchising, where the path from signed agreement to open doors is typically much longer.
“Running my studio has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done,” said Alex Camargo, Arthur Murray franchisee. “I’ve watched students walk in nervous, without dance experience, and a few months later they’re laughing on the dance floor with lifelong friends they’ve made. I’ve seen couples get ready for their wedding dance and people find a confidence they didn’t know they had. I really want more communities across Florida to have that experience. Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast are full of people who would love to learn to dance, and I knew that if I didn’t take this opportunity, someone else would. I can’t wait to bring the same passion and care we’ve built at our studio to every new studio we open.”
Camargo’s expansion taps into rising consumer demand for social dance and the experience economy. To meet that demand, Arthur Murray is growing through three channels. Existing franchisees like Camargo are adding studios to their portfolio, and independent dance studios are converting into the Arthur Murray system. The brand is also open to qualified new franchisees for the first time in a long time.
Supporting Arthur Murray’s growth is a refreshed Franchise Value Proposition that strengthens studio performance across marketing, lead generation, operations, dance instructor recruitment and development, and pricing and revenue optimization. The franchise opportunity centers on long-term student growth, social and specialty dance programming, and strong student and dance instructor retention, all of which drive recurring demand, predictable revenue and attractive unit-level economics.
Since opening its first franchised studio in 1938, Arthur Murray has grown to 335 locations across 19 countries, teaching millions of students to dance for everyday enjoyment, special occasions and competition.
