New York, New York – so good they named it twice! So, of course, Razzamataz had to return. A trip of this scale takes a huge amount of planning and organisation, but following the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the students, parents and Principals who experienced it last time, the Razzamataz Head Office team was delighted to bring this incredible opportunity back once again. This time, the Head Office team also created an incredible opportunity for one lucky team member to join the students on their adventure in the Big Apple. Following an exciting social media competition, the opportunity was won by Tash, Assistant Principal at Razzamataz Tonbridge, who was thrilled to be part of this unforgettable experience. “I feel very lucky to be part of a network with these sorts of opportunities and to win this incredible trip to New York,” says Tash. “That’s the thing with Razzamataz, whether you are a Principal or a teacher, there are lots of opportunities that you can take advantage of.”

What families can expect

The trip promises an unforgettable experience that combines performing arts, culture and the excitement of one of the world’s greatest cities. At the heart of the trip will be three exclusive Broadway workshops hosted by professional Broadway performers, giving students the opportunity to learn from those working at the very highest level of the industry. The workshops will cover a range of styles, from classic musical theatre to energetic hip hop, inspiring students to develop their skills while experiencing the magic of Broadway first-hand.

Away from the studio, the itinerary is packed with iconic New York experiences. Families will enjoy a Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island cruise, before being accompanied by a guide from Battery Park back into central Manhattan to see the spectacular Broadway production of Aladdin. There will also be an evening meal at Gayle’s Broadway Rose, a visit to Top of the Rock for incredible city views, and a fun-filled stop at the famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner, where students can enjoy the unique

experience of being served by singing performers. And, of course, no New York adventure would be complete without time to explore the iconic Central Park, providing the perfect way to round off an incredible trip filled with learning, inspiration and memories.

Industry invitations

The legacy and reputation that Razzamataz has built has enabled them to give their students, team members and franchisees exceptional opportunities. The latest one is an invite to a bespoke performance at the CYD Super Convention, one of the UK’s most prestigious performance and dance events. Razzamataz students will get to perform in a showcase in October at the Liverpool Experience Campus, take part in three industry led workshops taught by leading professionals the following day and enjoy full access to the main exhibitions and college showcases. This experience is another example of how Razzamataz is bringing an industry such as the performing arts to a wide range of young people who otherwise may feel it is out of their reach.
