SYNERGY HomeCare Opens First Location in Idaho’s Treasure Valley

The company is led by Marissa Jones, an experienced social worker who has spent nearly a decade serving at-risk members of her community, as well as providing personal care to her own aging loved ones. Jones’ grandmother, a former SYNERGY HomeCare client, helped her recognize the value she could bring to her new community by launching her own caregiving business.

Headquartered at 198 South Cole Road in Boise, Jones and her team of compassionate caregivers will assist residents in Boise and Eagle with a wide variety of non-medical, in-home care services, from companion care to personal care and respite care.

Through her work in social services and her past family experience, Jones developed a deep appreciation for caregivers and the role they can play in helping Baby Boomers. U.S. Census statistics show that 10,000 Baby Boomers are turning 65 every day and that by 2030, there will be more than 70 million people over 65. According to the AARP, over 80% of this demographic report wanting to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

Jones has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University and has spent her career serving children, seniors, and other vulnerable populations. Her experience ranges from case coordination and counseling to working as an animal-assisted therapist for mentally ill hospital patients. Although Jones had regular interactions with professional caregivers in her line of work, her most meaningful introduction to home care came through her grandmother, who relied on companion care services from SYNERGY HomeCare. Watching her grandmother remain in the home her late husband had built, while still receiving the support she needed to maintain dignity and independence, strongly influenced Jones’s decision to enter the home care profession herself.

“Seeing how much SYNERGY HomeCare’s services meant to my grandmother allowed me to realize all the good that home care can do,” said Jones. “Her caregivers helped her with so much more than just accomplishing daily tasks; they built a relationship with her, respected her independence, and helped her continue to thrive in the place that was most important to her. I want to provide that same support for the families in our community.”

Boise is home to a rapidly growing population and an increasing number of older adults choosing to retire in the Treasure Valley. While the valley has a strong healthcare infrastructure, area residents are still in need of care that extends beyond hospitals and medical facilities. Many nearby residents stand to benefit from care plans that include assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping, or simple companionship. Others require personal care services, such as help with bathing, dressing, and mobility.
