1,000 competitors, one global community: Fitstop’s electric Global Games finale in Brisbane

October 07, 2026 // Franchising.com // As demand for fitness events grows globally, Fitstop created a stage where performance meets community, giving everyday athletes the opportunity to step up, push their limits and experience the energy of competition together.

With events in Brisbane, Singapore and Los Angeles, Global Games brought that opportunity to Fitstop members across different communities. Each event channelled the culture built in Fitstop locations every day into a shared challenge, with athletes backing each other and celebrating every hard-earned achievement.

In Brisbane, the atmosphere was electric as athletes took on the course, backed by teammates, friends and over 1,500 spectators. The venue came alive with cheers at every station, from the anticipation of the opening moments to the final push across the finish line.

The day had no shortage of highlights, with podium finishes from some of the country's best strength and endurance athletes. But for many, it was their first competition: a chance to put their training to the test, take on something new, and feel the camaraderie that sits at the heart of the Fitstop community.

“Bringing Global Games home to Brisbane for the finale meant a lot to us,” said Fitstop Founder and CEO Peter Hull. “This is where Fitstop started, so seeing 1,000 athletes come together here to compete, support each other and celebrate what they’ve achieved was incredible.

“Global Games has given our communities the chance to put their training to the test and be part of something bigger. Every event has its own energy, but the support people showed one another was there at every stop.

“I’m proud of everyone who stepped onto the floor and everyone who cheered them on,” said Hull.

Fitness events are booming worldwide, as more people look for a reason to train and a place to show what that training has built. Competition gives every session a goal, and the day itself gives athletes a chance to put their progress on the floor. Fitstop's Global Games were built for exactly that.

“Every workout is designed around Fitstop's functional strength methodology, so the movements, standards and intensity are the same ones members train for in the studio every week. That makes the Games open to athletes at every stage, from first-timers to seasoned competitors, all testing themselves against the same program they’ve been building towards all year.” said Andrew Papadopoulos, Fitstop's Athletic Director.

Bringing Global Games to life was a network-wide effort, with 140 business owners from across Fitstop’s franchise network rolling up their sleeves to deliver the event. From moving more than 400 pieces of fitness equipment, including 6,000kg in weights, to judging 32 waves of competitors across 13 hours, each played a hands-on role in creating an epic competition experience for everyday athletes.

“Each city brought its own energy, but everywhere we saw athletes stepping up, backing each other and celebrating what they could achieve. That response has made this first tour something really special,” said Hull.

Supporting partners turned Global Games from a competition into a full-scale fitness festival. LSKD served as naming rights partner, with a retail pop-up and heat pressing to represent studios. Subway Australia also hosted a warm-up and recovery zone, while nutrition partner Pillar Performance supplied gels and hydration cans mid-workout to keep athletes fuelled.

Global Games has concluded, with participation from athletes across the world and communities that made each event their own.
