JETSET Pilates to Open First Virginia Studio in Tysons, Launching a Statewide Expansion

November 02, 2026 // Franchising.com // TYSONS, VA — JETSET Pilates will open its first Virginia studio in Tysons this November, marking the brand’s entry into the state. Two additional JETSET studios will open in Midlothian and Ashburn, Virginia in the coming months.

Located at 1640 Boro Place at The Boro, one of the most active live, work and play destinations in Northern Virginia, the 16-reformer Tysons studio opened presales in mid-July and is on track to sell hundreds of founding memberships before its doors officially open. It’s the first of three studios opening across Virginia over the next several months, with studios set to open in Midlothian (14313 Winterview Parkway) in December and Ashburn (44795 Dulles Overlook Dr.) in early 2027.

“Virginia is home for us,” said James Temple, co-founder of Vertex Fitness Group. “I grew up in Suffolk and spent 17 years building a business across this state, and our COO, Christy Rowe, grew up in Grundy and lives just a few miles from the studio we’re opening in Ashburn. Tysons is our anchor here, but it was never meant to be a single opening, we’re bringing JETSET to Virginia as a network of studios, from Northern Virginia to the Richmond region, so members can find a class close to home and close to work.”

Each Virginia studio will be staffed by a locally hired team led by a general manager, supported by Vertex’s shared services team and Rowe. Vertex expects the three Virginia locations to create approximately 60 local jobs, including general managers, studio leads, community leads, and certified instructors.

“James and Mo have already proven at Mathnasium that they know how to scale a business the right way, and that experience translate directly to what we’re seeing in Virginia,” said Bertus Albertse, President and CEO of JETSET Pilates. "That kind of discipline, data-driven execution is exactly what we want leading our growth in this market."

Tysons, Midlothian and Ashburn are the opening wave of a broader development agreement between JETSET and Vertex Fitness Group, which covers 25 studios across Virginia, Chicago and the Twin Cities.

Vertex Fitness Group was founded by James Temple and Mo Khalil, two of the most accomplished multi-unit operators in the Mathnasium franchise system, operating more than 100 Mathnasium learning centers combined. Vertex brought on Christy Rowe, a 15-year veteran of boutique fitness and premium retail operations, as Chief Operating Officer and founding member of its leadership team. Rowe leads studio openings, hiring, training, and marketing across every Vertex market, including Virginia.

JETSET’s Reformer Pilates pairs an intense, music-driven 50-minute workout with premium studio experience, and has built a loyal, community-driven membership base across a wide range of ages and fitness levels. Founded in Miami in 2010 by Tamara Galinsky, JETSET began franchising in 2022 and has since sold more than 400 territories nationwide, backed by a certification program through JETSET training academy.

Ahead of the Tysons opening, JETSET has been introducing itself to Tysons, McLean, Vienna and Great Falls through “JETSET on the Mat” pop-up classes, private VIP sessions and partnerships with local businesses and residential communities. As the opening date nears, founding members will get first access to preview classes, and the studio will marks its official debut with a ribbon cutting, community partners and a full slate of JETSET classes.
