Subway Reaches 27,000 Units

LONDON, UK (Wednesday, January 17, 2007) - Subway has announced the launch of its 27,000th worldwide location, which was opened on 17th January in London, UK by multi-unit franchisees Vishal Kakar and Farris Al-Naqeeb. "The continued growth of this amazing brand is a testament to the strength of its product and the attraction to those who wish to own and operate their own business," says Kevin Graham, Regional Director for Europe, Israel and South Africa. "The chain has grown in popularity by offering low start-up costs, ease of operation and healthier menu options."

Subway now has over 6,200 locations outside the USA, including over 850 in the UK and Ireland. The chain was also recently named the number one franchise opportunity in Entrepreneur magazine's annual 'Franchise 500' rankings for the 15th time in the last 20 years.
