Qdoba Mexican Grill Introduces New Chicken Mango Salad

Qdoba Provides Customers With a Refreshing New Option Just in Time for Summer

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Just in time for the heat waves of summer, Qdoba Mexican Grill is excited to announce the nationwide rollout of its Chicken Mango Salad. An informal survey conducted on behalf of Qdoba revealed that 87 percent of consumers seek out summer meal options that taste both light and refreshing. Qdoba's Chicken Mango Salad fits the bill by blending tropical mango salsa with a tangy lime vinaigrette dressing over shredded romaine lettuce and Qdoba's signature adobo chicken, served in a crispy tortilla bowl and topped with cheese and sour cream.

The salad, like all of Qdoba's menu items, is made to order in the restaurant and can be customized to fit any guest's individual preferences. For example, diners can choose to order the Chicken Mango Salad naked (without the bowl).

"The informal survey revealed that three of every four consumers becomes more health conscious about their meal choices in the summertime," said Ted Stoner, Qdoba's research and development director. "Served naked and with the option of lite sour cream, customers can make our Chicken Mango Salad even healthier."

The salad was tested in Denver and regional Colorado markets in 2006. Based on the overwhelmingly positive response from customers – more than 95 percent said they would reorder the salad again – Qdoba decided to roll it out nationwide this year.

More than 70 percent of consumers in the survey indicated that they would choose mango as their fruit of choice to add to a summertime salad. These consumers will be pleased to know that the Qdoba Chicken Mango Salad retails for just $6.29 in most locations. The salad is available nationwide for a limited time.
