HomeTask Handyman Service Introduces Handywoman

Aug 10 2007 Seattle - Seattle- HomeTask Handyman Services is proud to introduce Christa, the new female handyman caricature. Christa joins her brother, Chris, to be used in marketing to help expand the concept that men are not the only ones who can be handy.

HomeTask is very excited about the launch of Christa, who is a bit smaller and narrower than the original version of Chris that the company has used since the initial branding launch nearly 5 years ago. The Christa caricature will be used along with Chris online, in print, and on service vans.

"We live in a culture that continues to blur the lines around the typical roles of men and women. We recognize that nearly 15% of the work being done in the handyman industry is done by females. We know that there are a lot of talented women that would do really well as a HomeTask handyperson and we want to make sure they feel welcome at HomeTask." Jerrod Sessler, CEO.

One of the company's key initiatives this year is to represent themselves more accurately as a friendly and welcoming environment for women and minorities. HomeTask hopes to launch several more caricatures in the future to accommodate the ever changing ethnicity in our culture.

"We have several projects underway this year to bolster our presence in the areas we feel we need to be in, in order to demonstrate our true convictions about the opportunity that we offer to women and minorities," says Gina Bourdage, the Director of Strategic Marketing for HomeTask.

Christa and Chris was created by Katie Dolejsi of Dolejsi Design located in Seattle, WA.
