The history of the HomeTask, the servicemasters!
HomeTask Founder Jerrod Sessler had built a successful and growing construction business. But it left him overworked, stressed and dissatisfied. Jerrod wanted a way to bring together his construction knowledge and his passion for helping others find meaningful work and independence through self-employment. He realized that a franchise concept was the best way to reduce his stress and help others. But, with a twist. He wasn't interested in building a business based on a broken system. He dreamed of building HomeTask on a fresh foundation - one that is based on the needs of their culture today and the opportunities to leverage technology to make life easier! After years of energy, HomeTask licensed the very first franchise for the first HomeTask Brand of Service, Yellow Van Handyman, in 2004.
In 2008, and, much due to the founder's passion for health and healthy living, HomeTask added Freggies. Freggies (pronounced "Veggies" with leading "Fr" instead of "V") is an organic produce delivery service that started as a small garage operation and has grown into a leading provider of fresh, organic whole foods to homes and small businesses.
In 2010, HomeTask spread its support wings over an established brand, Pet Butler. At the time, this franchise system had about 40 franchises and was well seated as the top provider of pet waste clean up and yard cleaning services. Today, Pet Butler is thriving and continuing to grow beyond the company's expectations.
In 2011, HomeTask launched a new brand called Lawn Army. The launch was amongst much fan fair as it was the very first venture at residential landscape maintenance by a national franchise concept.
HomeTask intends to continue to dominate the service space by providing unprecedented support and service to their Franchise Partners while adding additional brands to the HomeTask family until every type of service known or needed can be fulfilled through a HomeTask service brand.
Jerrod envisioned from the start an environment where people were respected, honored and encouraged to grow - a true team culture. So, that is what he created with the help of a great team at the HomeTask support center and truly amazing Franchise Partners.
