California Pizza Kitchen to Open Third Long Island Restaurant

Open Monday, August 20, 2007 at Smith Haven Mall

LOS ANGELES, Aug 20, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- California Pizza Kitchen, Inc. (CPK) (NASDAQ:CPKI), home of the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas, creative salads, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts opened its newest location at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, New York today.

The 5,800 square-foot restaurant is located in the mall's new Lifestyle Village, across from Dick's Sporting Goods. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Guests can dine-in or place a take-out order by calling (631) 382-9610.

The menu features all the popular favorites, including Thai Chicken Pizza, Jamaican Jerk Pizza, BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and Shanghai Garlic Noodles, as well as many new menu items, including Pan Sauteed Salmon, Cajun Pizza, The Works Pizza, Mediterranean Salad and White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake.

A full bar offers an extensive beverage menu with a great selection of wines along with more than 40 specialty drinks, including CPK's original California Cosmo, and an extensive list of martinis and margaritas. Five new cocktails, Caribbean Sunset Sangria, Peach Passion Punch, Mango Lava Colada, Absolutly Sweet Peach Tea and Malibu Iced Tea will also be available.

Following CPK's tradition of giving back to the communities in which it operates, the new CPK restaurant will donate 100% of all dine-in pizza sales during regular business hours on Monday, August 27, 2007 to Friends of Karen, Inc. For 29 years, Friends of Karen has provided emotional, financial and advocacy support to children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and their families. Proceeds will be used to support the organization's ongoing programs and services on Long Island and throughout the metropolitan area.
