Qdoba Mexican Grill Introduces Shredded Pork and Ancho Chile Barbecue Sauce Nationwide

New Items Continue Qdoba's Tradition of Distinctive Flavor Profiles

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Known for its unique twist on flavors and innovative menu, Qdoba Mexican Grill is pleased to announce the nationwide addition of seasoned shredded pork to its menu. In addition to the new offering, Qdoba has also created a new Ancho Chile Barbecue Sauce to complement the seasoned shredded pork. As with all Qdoba menu items, the sauce and the pork can be used in any entrée combination, but the Ancho Chile Barbecue Burrito is expected to gain popularity quickly as the newest Signature Burrito on Qdoba's growing menu.

"We are excited about adding shredded pork to our menu nationwide. It's a healthy and flavorful addition and customers in our test markets have really enjoyed the product," said Ted Stoner, Qdoba's research and development director. "Based on America's love affair with barbecue sauce, we decided to create our new Ancho Chile Barbecue Sauce, which perfectly complements our shredded pork. This sauce, like most of our menu items, gives a well known flavor a new twist and a little, spicy kick."

According to research from Mintel, a global supplier of market research, barbecue sauce is one of the top five most-used condiments and can be traced back to American colonies in the 17th century.

The seasoned and slow-simmered shredded pork can be added to a variety of items on Qdoba's menu such as tacos, burritos, salads, quesadillas and nachos. All of Qdoba's offerings are made to order in the restaurant, and customers can customize their selections by choosing from a variety of meats, sauces, salsas and other fresh ingredients.

Qdoba's Ancho Chile Barbecue Burrito is the fifth Signature Burrito for customers to choose from. The sweet and spicy barbecue sauce, created by Stoner, is peppered with hints of dried chilies, hickory and mesquite.
