California Pizza Kitchen Opens First Restaurant in Seal Beach at The Shops at Rossmoor

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 2007--California Pizza Kitchen, Inc. (Nasdaq:CPKI), home to the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas, creative salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts, opened its first restaurant in Seal Beach, Calif., today at The Shops at Rossmoor, a revitalization project transforming a former 1960's-style strip center into a modern lifestyle center.

The new 5,900 square foot restaurant is located at the north end of the center at Seal Beach Boulevard and Rossmoor Center Drive. Hours of operation will be Monday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. except Friday and Saturday when the restaurant closes at 11:00 p.m. Guests can dine-in, place a take-out order by calling (562) 430-2695 or use CPK's Curbside service and have their order delivered right to their car.

The menu will feature all of the popular favorites, including the Thai Chicken Pizza, Jamaican Jerk Pizza, BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and Shanghai Garlic Noodles, as well as five new menu items: Mediterranean Salad, Pan Sauteed Salmon served with fresh grilled asparagus and spaghettini in a creamy lemon-caper sauce, Cajun Pizza with blackened chicken and spicy andouille sausage with a Creole sauce, The Works Pizza topped with sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, sauteed mushrooms, green peppers, black olives and mozzarella cheese, and a rich White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake.

There is also an impressive beverage menu with a great selection of wines and more than 40 specialty drinks. Also available are five new cocktails including Caribbean Sunset Sangria, Peach Passion Punch, Mango Lava Colada, Absolutly Sweet Peach Tea and Malibu Iced Tea.

Following CPK's tradition of giving back to the communities in which it operates, the new CPK restaurant will donate 100% of all dine-in pizza sales during regular business hours on Monday, September 24, 2007, to the Friends of the Los Alamitos/Rossmoor Library, a library within the Orange County Public Library system. The library seeks to provide a framework for the delivery of relevant resources meeting their educational, cultural, civic, business and life-long learning needs to residents of all ages of member with an excellent focus on programs for children.
