California Pizza Kitchen Opens First Restaurant in Macomb County at The Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township, MI

Fundraiser on Monday, October 29 to Benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 2007--California Pizza Kitchen, Inc. (CPK) (Nasdaq:CPKI), home to the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas, creative salads, soups, appetizers, sandwiches and desserts, opened its first restaurant in Macomb County today at The Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township, Michigan. The open-air, modern lifestyle center is the first new regional shopping center built in Macomb County in more than 30 years. The new restaurant in Clinton Township marks the 5th CPK location in Michigan.

The new 5,900 square foot restaurant is located at the northwest corner of the shopping center adjacent to Nordstrom at 17350 Hall Road. Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. except Friday and Saturday when the restaurant closes at 11:00 p.m. Guests can dine-in, place a take-out order by calling (586) 263-5667 or use CPK's Curbside service and have their order delivered right to their car.

The menu will feature all of the popular favorites, including the Thai Chicken Pizza, Jamaican Jerk Pizza, BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and Shanghai Garlic Noodles. Five new menu items will also be available including the Cabo Crab Cakes, a new appetizer made with blue crab, pan-sauteed and served with roasted corn and black bean salsa and roasted pepper aioli; Miso Salad, a fresh new salad made with blue crab and shrimp or chicken along with shredded Napa cabbage, fresh avocado, julienne cucumbers, daikon, edemame, carrots, green onions, cilantro, crispy rice noodles and crispy wontons, tossed in a Miso dressing; Blue Crab Cakes, a new specialty item made with blue crab, pan-sauteed and served with fresh grilled asparagus and spaghettini in a creamy lemon-caper sauce and the Italian Tomato & Basil Pizza with imported Italian tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and CPK's tomato sauce topped with fresh basil and parmesan cheese. For those with a sweet tooth, a new dessert is being added to the menu: a three-layer Red Velvet Cake frosted with vanilla bean cream cheese and white chocolate curls served on vanilla bean sauce.

The beverage menu offers a full bar with a great selection of wines and more than 40 specialty drinks headlined by CPK's original California Cosmo. Four new cocktails include Beverly Hills Tea, Coconut Mojito, Caribbean Sunset Sangria and Appleberry Sangria.

Continuing CPK's tradition of giving back to the communities in which it operates, the new CPK restaurant will donate 100% of all dine-in pizza sales during regular business hours on Monday, October 29, 2007, to the Vic & Lucille Wertz Club in Shelby Township, part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan. The Wertz Club provides a safe place for children ages 6-18 to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring professionals; life-enhancing programs and character development experiences thereby enabling its members to become responsible, self-reliant, caring adults.
