LAKE FOREST, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thank you southern California, says Del Taco president and COO Shirlene Lopez. Over the past three weeks, southern California consumers have devoured more 350,000 Del Taco Spicy Chicken Burritos, helping the company in its bid to raise more than $100,000 for fire relief efforts.
Del Taco will donate 25 cents from the sale of each Spicy Chicken Burrito sold until Christmas at southern California company-owned Del Taco's and participating franchise restaurants.
"The response to our fire relief donation efforts has been tremendous, and we are grateful for every Spicy Chicken burrito sold," said Shirlene Lopez, Del Taco's president and COO. "We know the fires have touched everyone in some way, and we all want to help."
Del Taco revamped its Spicy Chicken Burrito to now include twice the chicken at the same $1.99 price. The burrito includes juicy chunks of marinated grilled chicken, rice, slow-cooked beans, green sauce and grated cheddar cheese.
Founded in 1964, Del Taco operates or franchises more than 495 restaurants in 14 states. More information is available at www.deltaco.com.
