Midas Denver Partners with Make-a-Wish Foundation of Colorado to Share the Power of a Wish

Automotive Service Providers Open Their Hearts – and Wallets – to Grant the Wishes of 12 Local Children in 2008

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Midas' Denver area stores, 22 locations situated along the Front Range and affiliated with Midas International Corporation (NYSE:MDS), one of the world's largest providers of automotive services, are ringing in the new year by teaming up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Colorado to share the power of a wish®. A 12-month program coinciding with Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado's year-long 25th anniversary celebration, it's designed to rally Midas' Denver area employees and shop owners together in an effort to grant the wish of a seriously ill child in their area every month in 2008. All told, over $78,000 in wishes will be granted with the help of Midas' Denver store owners.

Starting with January's "Wish Kid," Kailey, a 12-year-old cancer patient from Arvada who visited Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in The Bahamas, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado will handle the monthly selection process, with Midas' Denver area locations sponsoring the designated youngster to make a dream of theirs come true. Midas will host a Wish Kid event in Denver during the first quarter to formally kick off the campaign. Beginning this month, Midas' Denver area locations will promote Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado through advertising and direct mail campaigns, along with in-store displays featuring each child.

"Most of our customers live and work in our own backyard, so this is a welcome chance for us to boost the spirits of courageous kids in our neighborhoods who have a big fight on their hands," said Curtis Goodman, owner and operator of three regional Midas franchises who spearheaded the program on behalf of his group. "Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado was a natural partner for us. We're proud to donate over $78,000 to support the wishes of the children they serve and to tell their touching stories everyday in our shops."

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado is initiating a year-long remembrance of its service to the children of Colorado as it commemorates its 25th anniversary. Since its inception in 1983, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado has granted more than 2,800 wishes to seriously ill children throughout the state. In conjunction with the 25th anniversary, a host of celebratory events are planned for 2008, including a gala in the fall for sponsors like Midas.

"We're very grateful to count the Denver area Midas employees and store owners on our side as the Foundation commemorates its banner year," said Eileen Danahy, Director of Development for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado. "Good corporate stewards like Midas franchise owners care about our community and the kids who make up such a vital part of it. They step it up in a critical way and help us infuse young lives with hope and encouragement."

The campaign is part of a larger, joint venture between Midas International Corporation and the national Make-A-Wish Foundation®. As the 2008 summer driving season rolls around, Midas will kick its sponsorship into high gear by donating $5 to Make-A-Wish's "Destination Joy" for every Midas Touch Maintenance Package (MTMP) sold coast-to-coast from May 5 to August 3, 2008.
