Kitchen Tune-Up Awards Project of the Year Award to Greenville-Louisville Area Franchise

February 14, 2008 // Franchising.com // - Aberdeen, SD– Kitchen Tune-Up, the creator of patented surface reconditioning technology for updating kitchens and baths, has awarded brothers Doug and Cliff Reid, Greenville, IN franchise owners, with the prestigious Project of the Year award.

The honor was presented at Kitchen Tune-Up's annual convention, January 31st in Jacksonville, FL.

To qualify for this award, a franchise must have won a Project of the Month award in the previous year. The twelve potential project winners are then voted on by the full franchise system, consisting of over 300 locations. In addition to the award and system recognition, they were also presented with an all expense paid cruise.

Factors looked at in judging include how impressive or drastic a change was achieved, what unique features were used and the overall satisfaction of the client.

In this project, the homeowners were both busy executives with a large family and multiple pets. They needed a big impact in their kitchen without much impact on their daily lives. The existing cabinets had been made by the home's original owner and didn't meet standard sizes or specifications, they'd been painted several times and just needed to be redone. The Reids replaced the cabinets with a beautiful new walnut and leaded glass look accents, installed a new floor and lighting and added a new granite countertop. New hardware, corbels, pull-outs and high crown molding completed the kitchen. This was all done at less than half the costs quoted by other remodeling companies. Having been away for a week on a business trip, the homeowner returned to find the entire project done. All she could say was an amazed "Oh, my God!" and have hired the Reids for their next project, a custom entertainment center.
