Poltergeist at Nearby Dublin Castle Reportedly Soothed by Smoothie Operator
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - February 29, 2008) - Robeks Corporation, a premium fruit smoothie and healthy eats national franchisor, announced today the opening of its first international store in downtown Dublin, Ireland. The new location is colorfully situated at 9A Lord Edward St., just two blocks from the medieval citadel, Dublin Castle, site of countless historical invasions and storied ghostly souls wandering the neighborhood.
Franchisee Thomas Jones carried out extensive research of 'juice bars' in the United States and Australia in advance of signing a 10-year license agreement with Robeks to develop stores throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. This first location, a 400 square-foot "high-street" store, opened on January 29, 2008, and grand opening festivities are scheduled shortly. Jones claims he arrives in the early morning hours to find blenders abuzz and unusual smoothie concoctions scattered about the store. Thirsty poltergeist?
Robeks Ireland serves a menu similar to Robeks' 140-plus U.S. stores: premium, made-to-order smoothies, wraps/salads, wheatgrass and power muffins, with the added difference of scones and hot green tea, along with pure 100 percent juices, that appeal to the local palate. Already, visitors have dubbed favorites: Berry Brilliance and Banzai Blueberry.
"Smoothies are not new to Irish tastes, as there has been a focus on health and wellness in Ireland for some time. We are pleased consumers can now sample an authentic Robeks smoothie with its distinctive creamy texture, not unlike the frothy tops of Ireland's famous ales. While Dublin, Ireland is our first venture into Europe, we expect it will be the first of many in the region. Of course, we're aggressively pursuing our 500-store target right here in America," says President and CEO of Robeks, Sheri Miksa.
Robeks is passionate about helping people maintain healthier lifestyles by serving a great-tasting selection of premium, made-to-order fruit smoothies, squeezed-fresh juices and snacks, plus sandwiches/wraps, salads and frozen yogurt (in most locations). Robeks serves more than nine million guests annually at 140-plus franchise locations in 16 states and D.C. The company was named No. 16 on Restaurant Business Magazine's 2007 list of Fastest Growing Companies. Visit www.robeks.com.
