NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Begin exploring the fascinating options of business ownership at the 2008 Southern California Franchise Showcase where over 40 of the nation's fastest growing franchises will be on display for aspiring business owners to learn what it takes to be successful in a franchise concept. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 9 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm and Saturday, May 10 from 10:00 am – 3:00 at the Radisson Hotel on 4545 MacArthur Blvd. in Newport Beach.
The Franchise Showcase, which is free to the community, is being hosted by The Entrepreneur's Source (TES) (www.esourcesocal.com), the leading franchise education company and The Orange County Small Business Development Center (OC-SBDC) (www.ocsbdc.com). Each host will also have an exhibit booth at the Franchise Showcase offering valuable information and services on business ownership.
"Our Franchise Showcase will help people gather the information they need to make an informed decision on the various business opportunities available to them," says Tom Holloran, regional developer for The Entrepreneur's Source (TES). "And we encourage people who want to attend to register and take advantage of the free consultation that we are offering," he added.
"By attending last year's Franchise Showcase, I met a TES business coach who helped me find the right business and today I'm the proud owner of a Today's Window Fashions business serving the Southern California market," says Casey Aylward. "As a former franchise owner, I understand the value of being your own boss and benefiting from my own managerial style," he added.
The Showcase offers attendees a chance to speak one-on-one with franchise representatives and offers an educational program hosted by local franchise owners and business experts. Educational presentations, including panel discussions, will run throughout both days.
The panel discussions will be co-moderated by Leila Mozaffari, OC-SBDC Director and co-sponsor of the Franchise Showcase and Jan Norman, author of "What No One Ever Tells You About Franchising." Jan Norman writes a weekly syndicated newspaper column for the McClatchy/Tribune News Service, "It's Your Business," which explores the challenges and problems business owners encounter when launching and running their companies.
"This Franchise Showcase complements our mission to work with start-up and existing small businesses in the areas," says Leila Mozaffari. "With franchising being an alternative start-up option, we are happy to partner with TES and provide these valuable resources to our clients and the community," she added.
Admission to the Franchise Showcase is free; however, with advanced registration attendee will receive a free consultation. For additional questions and to register you can call (877) 535-9116 or visit online at www.esourcesocal.com.
