Einstein Bros., Noah's Offer 99-Cent Bagel & Shmear to Raise $500,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation

Brands Encourage Guests to 'Donate the Difference' to Help Grant Kids' Wishes

LAKEWOOD, Colo., June 4, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- To encourage guests to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R), all company-owned Einstein Bros.(R) Bagels and Noah's(R) Bagels, except those in Massachusetts, will offer a Bagel and Shmear to all guests for just 99 cents June 6-8. Guests are encouraged to "donate the difference" of $1.50 between a regularly priced Bagel and Shmear ($2.49) and the 99-cent special Bagel and Shmear offer to support the children's wish-granting charity.

A donation is not required for guests who visit participating restaurants to get the 99-cent Bagel and Shmear deal. But guests will be encouraged to give the $1.50 difference -- or a donation of any amount -- to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

"We are serious about supporting these courageous wish children and believe that our loyal guests will donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation as part of our unbelievable Bagel and Shmear Offer," said Jim Hood, Chief Marketing Officer of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group (Nasdaq: BAGL), parent company of the two brands. "This is the first fundraising initiative of our company's partnership with the Foundation, and we urge our guests to join us in this very important effort."

The goal of this three-day event during the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Destination Joy(R) campaign is to raise $500,000 for its wish-granting efforts. All donations made during the event will go directly to the Foundation.

"We've made the conscious decision to offer the Bagel and Shmear at such an incredible deal without requiring a donation because we believe in the Make-A-Wish Foundation and its mission," said Paul Murphy, CEO of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group. "Einstein Bros. and Noah's have a wonderful base of guests who care as much as we do about the community. We look forward to the amount they are going to generate for the children."

Destination Joy, which runs nationwide from June 3-12, is the Make-A-Wish Foundation's annual campaign to raise funds and resources so the organization can grant more wishes. The Foundation grants the heartfelt wishes of more than 13,000 kids a year - one every 40 minutes. But that's only half of the 27,000 children it estimates are diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States annually.

"We truly appreciate Einstein Noah Restaurant Group launching our partnership with the generous offer for its guests. It really illustrates the company's enthusiasm and commitment to our wish-granting mission," said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer. "This will help us toward our goal to make every wish happen for children with life-threatening medical conditions nationwide."

Einstein Bros. and Noah's will also be the official retail destination to purchase magnetic Wish Stars for $2. The Wish Stars will be available at all company-owned locations and Manhattan Bagel(R) franchise locations beginning June 6. Each restaurant will have limited quantities, so hurry in to get your Wish Star.
