Denny's Announces Finalists in "Vote for Real" Contest

American Voters Will Determine Best Presidential Poser

SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-The nominations are in, and Denny's (NASDAQ:DENN), America's home of Real Breakfast, has selected the six best impersonations of the 2008 Presidential candidates as part of its "Vote For Real" campaign. The finalists will now face an online, head-to-head public vote at http://www.vote4real.com now through August 22 to be named the country's best Presidential poser. Voters can also register for the GO2DC sweepstakes to win a trip for two to Washington, D.C. in January 2009 to partake in the inauguration festivities of the new, real-life Commander-in-Chief. No purchase necessary to register for sweepstakes.

Winners receive a perk that no President would veto: a Presidential term's worth of free breakfasts paid in Denny's gift cards - one meal at Denny's per month until the next election in 2012. Winners can enjoy Sizzlin' Breakfast Skillets, Moons Over My Hammy(R) and French Toast Slams(R) for years to come.

"The Vote for Real contest submissions have been extremely creative, ranging from a rapping Obama to a McCain impersonator who predicts a "Grand Slam" victory," said Elizabeth Geer, senior director, advertising and brand communications for Denny's. "We look forward to hearing from our guests and the American voters to hear who the real 'people's choice' is for this campaign."

The Vote For Real finalists include:

  • Jeff Anderson - Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Iman Crosson - New York, New York
  • Lewis Heaney - Orange, Calif.
  • Pete Peterkin - Los Angeles, Calif.
  • David Siegel - New York, New York
  • Mark Wooster - San Diego, Calif.

Vote for Real candidates were evaluated on appearance, mannerisms, and an original speech about "real breakfast" - Denny's full service, made-to-order, prepared fresh experience.

Consumers can vote for their favorite candidate by visiting www.vote4real.com between now and August 22. Denny's "America Votes for Real" contest encouraged anyone who feels they look like, sound like, or just vaguely resemble the Arizona or Illinois senator running for U.S. President in 2008 to submit their best video impersonations online. Video submissions were accepted from July 8-31.
