Local Franchise Owner Recognized By IFA As Franchisee Of The Year

September 24, 2008 // Franchising.com // The International Franchise Association (IFA) has named John Squires of Media, Pennsylvania "Franchisee of the Year." Squires, the owner of a Home Helpers/Direct Link franchise, was honored for his outstanding performance and also for his contributions that have enhanced the growth and development of franchising.

"From the very first day I opened this business, my mission has been to be the most trusted and respected provider of home care services and products in our community," said Squires. "While it's certainly an honor to be recognized by the IFA, it's even more important to me that the community has placed its trust in us." Home Helpers offers in-home, non-medical services for Seniors, New Mothers and others needing assistance at home.

The company provides personalized care packages customized to an individual's hourly, daily or weekly needs. Services include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, transportation, laundry, recreational activities and more. John Squires' compassionate Caregivers provide services to clients in Western Delaware/Eastern Chester counties.

In business for five years, Squires' Home Helpers franchise has more than 140 Caregivers. According to Squires, each Caregiver must meet rigorous employment criteria before being hired. Caregivers are then matched to a client after extensive in-home consultation. "Our Caregivers treat clients as an extension of their own family," said Squires. "It's our commitment to ethical standards, community involvement and excellent client service that sets us apart from other home care agencies."

Squires' Home Helpers franchise is currently providing support to more than 400 clients. In addition to private pay clients, Squires' franchise meets all of Pennsylvania's requirements for pending licensure and is a provider for both the Delaware and Chester County Office on Aging, Liberty Resources and Jefferson Home Care.
