September 30, 2008 // Franchising.com // Sebring, FL — Batteries Plus®, the nation's largest chain focused on the $24 billion battery category and serving both retail and commercial customers, announced the opening of its newest franchise location in Sebring for the first time offering the community a one-stop source to fulfill all of their battery needs. The new Sebring store, located at 1949 US Hwy. 27 N will open on Monday, October 6, 2008.
Batteries Plus has developed a stronghold in communities nationwide with a distinctive niche that offers a comprehensive selection of batteries, battery-related products and technical support. The new Sebring location provides the equipment and expertise on-site to assemble, test, condition and design custom battery packs for rechargeable household and commercial products.
Products include literally thousands of batteries for thousands of items, ranging from common items such as watches, cameras and cell phones to larynx batteries for electronic voice boxes, solar landscape lights, talking books for children and keyless entry door locks at major hotels.
As the nation's leader in battery recycling, Batteries Plus locations offer recycling of old lead acid, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, and lithium ion batteries, as well as alkaline batteries for free through its Batteries Plus Recycling Program. Now to continue with its big push in new recycling initiatives, Batteries Plus is partnering with "The Big Green Box" company, an international program that offers companies and consumers an easier way to recycle electronics and batteries. Last year alone, Batteries Plus recycled more than 191 tons of batteries of all different shapes and sizes.
"In an age of increased portability, our society is dependent on batteries," said Bob Huston, co-owner of the Sebring Batteries Plus store. "Batteries Plus provides unmatched service and expertise, along with batteries of virtually every shape and size. I look forward to meeting the ongoing battery needs of the Sebring community, from the consumer seeking simple batteries for common items or automotive needs, to the business owner or large entity needing ongoing, more complex battery services."
