Light Up Mainstreet with Yellow VAN Handyman, Northwest Harvest, and Toys for Tots
December 10, 2008 // Franchising.com // Seattle, WA - This year's historic Federal bailout of Wall Street has our Nation fixated. While Americans are waiting for relief on a more local level, Yellow VAN Handyman is introducing a stimulus package of their own: "Light Up Mainstreet".
From Wednesday, December 10, 2008 through Monday December 15,, 2008, our team of professional Yellow VAN Handymen will install up to 5 strands of holiday lights per single story home, in exchange for a food, toy, or monetary donation to either Northwest Harvest or Toys for Tots.
All walks of life are feeling the economic pinch this holiday season, especially those depending on their communities for assistance. Food and toy donations have plummeted approximately 30% from last year in Washington State alone. In addition, visible displays of holiday spirit are far less prominent than in the past. "Light up Mainstreet" is Yellow VAN Handyman's cure for the "Bah, Humbug" epidemic.
"Light Up Mainstreet" is an exciting opportunity for communities within the greater Seattle area to rally together to celebrate the season and provide for those who would otherwise go without. Participants are encouraged to give from their heart. While no minimum donation amount is required; a value of $50 is suggested. All food donations must be non-perishable and toy donations must be new and unwrapped. Checks should be payable to either, "Northwest Harvest" or "Toys For Tots".
