Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds For Vernon Hills & Libertyville Elementary Schools

April 15, 2009 // Franchising.com // Jersey Mike's Subs will officially open its doors in Vernon Hills next week. Jersey Mike's owner, John Griparis, knows the importance of community relations and will celebrate his new ties with the area when he holds his grand opening on April 15th. This is the first Jersey Mike's Subs to open in Illinois.

To commemorate the grand opening, the new restaurant, located at 1640 North Milwaukee Ave., is hosting a two week fundraiser from April 15th through April 30th, with proceeds supporting elementary schools in two districts: Hawthorn District 73 PTO and Libertyville District 70 Partners for Excellence in Education. Anyone who has a fundraising coupon can get a free regular sub for a $1 donation. Coupons are being distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.

John has been in the restaurant business for over twenty years and knows the value and importance of giving back to the community very well. "Being on the boarder of Vernon Hills and Libertyville we wanted to come up with a way to benefit both elementary school districts," Griparis said. "Elementary schools are the foundation of learning and we hope the community will join us in supporting these great schools."

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
