Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds For Minnie's Food Pantry

Owner Celebrates with Free Subs

June 25, 2009 // Franchising.com // Plano, TX Jersey Mike's Subs officially opened its doors with a second location in Plano on June 10, 2009. Business owner, Adam Zeigler knows the importance of community relations and celebrated his ties with the area during the grand opening.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 8100 Dallas Parkway, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., June 10, through Sun., June 14, with proceeds supporting Minnie's Food Pantry. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon could receive a free regular sub for a $1 donation. Coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.

"We selected this organization because it benefits those who are in need due to the tough economic times we're experiencing," said Zeigler. "We wanted to demonstrate our support and help the community."

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors, and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. "We believe every Jersey Mike's has a responsibility to its local community," said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike's Founder and CEO. "People like Adam Zeigler make a difference with their commitment to giving back. We wish him every success."

Adam Zeigler is 24 years old and a graduate of Baylor University. "Since October 2008, I have been assisting my father in opening and running his Jersey Mike's Subs store also located in Plano. With that experience, I knew this was a business venture I wanted to pursue. It has a strong business model, excellent products and allows me to be involved in the local community while running a business," said Zeigler.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can contact this store directly at (214) 436-5100.

Jersey Mike's, a sub sandwich franchise with more than 400 stores open and under development nationwide, has a long history of community involvement and support.
