Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds For Down Syndrome Partnership Of Tarrant County At Grand Opening

Owners Celebrate With Free Subs

September 30, 2009 // Franchising.com // Watauga, Texas - Jersey Mike's Subs has officially opened its doors in Watauga. Jersey Mike's owners, Chris Brown and Brandon Tatta, along with their wives B.J. Brown and Alison Tatta, know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area when they held their grand opening on September 30, 2009.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 7608 Denton Highway, hosted an 11-day fundraiser from Wed., September 30 through Sat., October 10, with proceeds supporting the Down Syndrome Partnership of Tarrant County. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 donation. Coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.

"One of our top priorities as business owners is to give back in some small way to the community, and in particular the Down Syndrome Partnership of Tarrant County," said Brandon Tatta "Both my family and Chris' have a close connection with the organization."

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well. "When you are an active contributor to the community it shows and since we all want to support those who do good for others, that's good for everyone," said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike's Founder and CEO. "The Browns and Tattas are truly committed to helping the Down Syndrome Partnership of Tarrant County and we welcome the Watauga community to join them in this initiative."

This will be the Browns' and Tattas' first Jersey Mike's Subs shop. "We felt our community needed a quality family friendly restaurant. We are pleased to bring a family focused concept into this great community," said Chris Brown.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday - Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. You can contact this store directly at (817) 788-2100.

Jersey Mike's, a sub sandwich franchise with more than 400 stores open and under development nationwide, has a long history of community involvement and support. Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's serves authentic Northeast style subs on fresh baked bread - the same recipe it started with over 50 years ago. The company's mission is to bring its customers the highest quality, freshest made sub in the industry and give back to the communities in which it operates.
