February 10, 2010 // Franchising.com // Jersey Mike's Subs officially opened its doors in Greenwood Village, CO. Jersey Mike's owners Tom Chambers and Michael Martinez know the importance of community involvement and celebrated their new ties with the area when they held a grand opening on Wed., February 3. This is the fifth Jersey Mike's Subs to open in the Denver Area.
To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 5137 South Yosemite St. (Southwest corner of Yosemite and Bellevue), hosted a 5-day fundraiser to benefit The Kempe Foundation. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution from Wed., Feb. 3 through Sun., Feb. 7. Coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.
Headquartered in Denver, the Kempe Foundation supports eleven programs directed by some of the nation's leading child abuse experts in the prevention, treatment and research of child abuse and neglect. Kempe treats children from birth to age 18 to provide more hopeful futures, and happier, healthier lives. "We share the Kempe Foundation's commitment to children and invite the community in to help us raise funds to support their great work," said Chambers.
According to Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike's Franchise Systems, reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. All franchise owners find ways to support their neighbors and employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents as well.
"We are excited to continue our great relationship with the franchisee team of Tom Chambers and Michael Martinez," said Cancro. "Tom and Mike have a real passion for serving their customers and the community. I know they are delighted to share our authentic Northeast-style subs with Greenwood Village."
