BrightStar Receives 2010 Best of Gurnee Award

Full-service healthcare company recognized for exceptional marketing success in community

June 02, 2010 // Franchising.com // GURNEE, IL - BrightStar, a full-service healthcare staffing agency that provides medical and non-medical homecare and supplemental healthcare staff to corporate clients, has been awarded the 2010 Best of Gurnee Award in the Home Health Care Services category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Winners were chosen in each category based on various sources of information that was gathered and analyzed. Information is gathered internally by the USCA and also through third parties. The 2010 USCA Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity.

"We are honored to be receiving this award and to be recognized for all of our hard work in the local community," said Shelly Sun, CEO and Co-founder of BrightStar. "We are dedicated to providing peace of mind to our clients by providing the highest quality, compassionate care and service. As a part of the small business community that is based in Gurnee, we feel it is crucial in creating and maintaining a positive image not only to our customer but to the local community as well."

Founded in 2002, BrightStar is a full-service healthcare staffing agency that provides the full continuum of care, from homecare to supplemental staffing for corporate clients such as hospitals, nursing homes, and doctors offices. In August 2005, they launched their franchising efforts, becoming the first franchising company in the United States to specialize in both medical and non-medical care and healthcare staffing.

Today, BrightStar has grown from one company-owned store to over 160 locations in 31 states and will reach 400 franchise locations sold by the end of 2011. Through Sun's leadership, BrightStar opens 7-12 territories each month and has experienced 811% system-wide revenue growth between 2006 and 2008.
