Jersey Mike's Subs Franchise Raises Funds For Tinley Wish At Grand Opening

Owners Celebrate with Free Subs

October 07, 2010 // Franchising.com // Tinley Park, IL - Jersey Mike's Subs opened its first store in Tinley Park. Jersey Mike's owners David Zaycek, Tony Turco and Eric Woodall know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on October 6, 2010.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 16205 E South Harlem Avenue, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., October 6 through Sun., October 10, with proceeds supporting Tinley Wish. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 donation. More than 5,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community.

"Tinley Wish offers programs to help support our neighbors in Tinley Park in need of financial and medical assistance. It feels good to be able help the members of our community who need it most," said Woodall. "This is just the start for us. We invite all our neighbors to stop in for a sub, and join us in support of Tinley Wish."

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. Tony Turco has lived in Tinley Park for the past five years and Eric Woodall grew up nearby in Orland Park. David Zaycek grew up at the Jersey Shore - only a mile away from Jersey Mike's Subs. "I have many wonderful memories with friends and family enjoying Jersey Mike's Subs. We always ate Jersey Mike's Subs at football games and special events," said Zaycek. "I feel fortunate to have been on the receiving end of Jersey Mike's community involvement growing up. Now that Tony, Eric and I have officially joined the "family" and we can pay it forward to the residents of Tinley Park."
