Arby's(R) Restaurant Group Opens First Military Location at Ft. Bliss

Agreement with AAFES Calls for Restaurant Development on U.S. Military Installations

ATLANTA, Nov 05, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Wendy's/Arby's Group, Inc. (NYSE: WEN), announced today the opening of its first Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) operated Arby's restaurant at Ft. Bliss, TX. The restaurant is located in Freedom Crossing, the first-ever open-shopping center on a U.S. military installation.

Earlier this year, Arby's signed a development agreement with AAFES to develop restaurants on U.S. military installations. Under that agreement, development of additional restaurants is currently under way in Ft. Carson, CO and Ft. Lewis, WA. Arby's and AAFES are conducting preliminary work to explore other expansion options at U.S. military installations.

AAFES selected Arby's after an extensive search to add another well-known, distinct restaurant brand to its portfolio.

"Partnering with Arby's is consistent with our desire to bring a 'taste of home' to Soldiers and Airmen, regardless of where they serve," said Tom Branning, VP, Food and Theater, AAFES.

"Over the years, we've heard from numerous military parents and spouses about how much their loved ones stationed around the world miss Arby's - some have even shipped our Arby's Sauce(R) and Horsey Sauce(R) to give them that little taste of home," said John Todd, Chief Development Officer, Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc. "We're proud to now be able to provide our military personnel and their families with a full menu of Arby's favorites they've been craving."

AAFES will serve Arby's one-of-a-kind menu items, including its slow-roasted and freshly sliced roast beef and Beef 'n Cheddar sandwiches, Curly Fries, Jamocha shakes, Market Fresh(R) deli-style sandwiches, toasted subs and salads and its newly introduced Value Menu starting at $1.
