Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds for Local Schools at Grand Opening Owner Celebrates with Free Subs

January 07, 2011 // Franchising.com // Lisle, IL - Jersey Mike's Subs opened its first store in Lisle. Jersey Mike's owner Mark Cross knows the importance of community relations and celebrated his new ties with the area during his grand opening on Jan. 5, 2011.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant located at 1032 Maple Avenue, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Jan. 5 through Sun., Jan. 9, with proceeds supporting the Lisle Community School District 202 Home and School Organization. Anyone who has a fundraising coupon can get a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 contribution. More than 6,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community. District schools include Lisle High School, Lisle Junior High, Schieser Elementary and Tate Woods Elementary.

"The foundation of any community is its schools and we look forward to supporting the great schools in Lisle," said Cross. "At our Jersey Mike's stores in Naperville and Aurora we've been very successful in partnering with the local schools and we're excited to become part of the community here as well."

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission.
