In its 32nd year, the Franchise 500 list, compiled by the magazine, is the best-known and most comprehensive franchise industry ranking. The rankings are based on objective, quantifiable measures of success, and include special categories for specific industries and accomplishments.
Despite the struggling retail climate, Charley's Grilled Subs remained on top in 2010 by staying true to their brand, listening to their customers and reinforcing the importance of commitment to the community through their Brotherly Love program, which encourages franchise owners to give back through philanthropic programs and community organizations. The restaurant franchise is also proud of their expansion both nationally and internationally in 2010, opening 37 stores and projecting an additional 40 openings in 2011.
