Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds For Local Schools At Grand Opening

Owner Celebrates with Free Subs

February 24, 2011 // Franchising.com // Plainfield, IL - Jersey Mike's Subs opened its first store in Plainfield. Jersey Mike's owner Mark Cross knows the importance of community relations and celebrated his new ties with the area during his grand opening on February 23.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 13400 S. Route 59, hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Feb. 23 through Sun., Feb. 27, with proceeds supporting many Plainfield Schools PTO & PTA groups. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 contribution. More than 10,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community.

"I look forward to supporting the foundation of the Plainfield community, which is certainly our children and our schools," said Cross. "Our Jersey Mike's stores in Naperville and Aurora have been very successful partnering with Districts #203 and #204. On Jan. 5, we opened Jersey Mike's of Lisle, supporting Lisle Schools HSO and raised more than $2,500 in 5 days! I hope the people of Plainfield will visit the store in droves to try a great sandwich and support their local schools."

Reaching out to the community is a key component of Jersey Mike's mission. My goal is to serve every customer the best sandwich experience of their life, each and every time they walk through the front door," he said.
