Sales Trends Accelerate in Third Quarter

OKLAHOMA CITY --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sonic Corp. (NASDAQ: SONC), the nation's largest chain of drive-in restaurants, today announced that its system-wide same-store sales have increased by an estimated 4% to 6% for the first two months of the company's third fiscal quarter ending May 31, 2011. This represents an improvement from the 1.2% same-store sales increase experienced in its second fiscal quarter. In addition, company-owned drive-ins continued to outperform franchise drive-ins in terms of same-store sales growth.
