Mr. Rooter(R) Plumbing Expands Operations Team

Mr. Rooter Corporation announces the addition of Keegan Rogers and Dianna Worthington to its operations team.

May 05, 2011 // Franchising.com // As the new technical support specialist, Rogers is the primary support contact for Mr. Rooter Plumbing franchisees, who use the company's computer software program. He will also develop training and implement enhancements to the software.

"Keegan brings a wealth of information and experience to his new position," said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. Rooter Corporation. "His in-depth understanding is invaluable to our franchisees and corporate staff."

Five years ago, Rogers helped develop the software at Mr. Rooter Plumbing's parent company, The Dwyer Group, Inc.

"I am looking forward to using my background with the software to make this program a business tool that will help our franchisees increase their productivity," Rogers said.

Worthington will also use her background – flipping houses and education – in her new role of franchise systems specialist. A former real estate agent, she's renovated homes for 22 years.

Her responsibilities with Mr. Rooter Plumbing include helping new franchisees open their franchise using the Sure Start System.

"Dianna's service-oriented background is a great match for this role," Thompson said. "We are also delighted with her ability to enhance our training programs."

A former high school principal, Worthington is also in charge of coordinating the training programs offered by the plumbing company. She's already updated the basic training classes for new franchisees.

"My new position at Mr. Rooter Plumbing is unique because it unites my experience with homes and my passion for educating," said Worthington.

Mr. Rooter® Plumbing Promotes Franchise Developer and Adds Another

Mr. Rooter Corporation announces the promotion of Sam Thurman and addition of Clint Smith to its franchise development team.

Thurman has worked for Mr. Rooter Corporation's parent company, The Dwyer Group, Inc., for 10 years. Before he became the Mr. Rooter franchise development leader and resell developer, he worked in the franchise development departments for Mr. Appliance®, Glass Doctor®, Mr. Electric® and Aire Serv®.

"Sam has a proven record of hard work and determination, which makes him a great fit for Mr. Rooter Plumbing," said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. Rooter Corporation.

With an extensive knowledge of the home services industry and how franchise development works at The Dwyer Group, Thurman is excited about his new role.

"I plan to take what I've learned and apply it to the Mr. Rooter business model," Thurman said. "Working alongside current franchisees and our corporate team, I look forward to growing the Mr. Rooter brand."

Thurman, who is a 1990 graduate of Vanderbilt University, main responsibility is to oversee the Mr. Rooter franchise development team, which includes Smith, a former professional baseball player.

Smith's career started in 2001, as a pitcher in the Minor League for the San Diego Padres. He went on to play with the Reynosa Broncos and Laguna Vaqueros in Mexico, as well as the Newark Bears and Lancaster Barnstormer in the Minor League.

When a chronic injury forced him to retire in 2005, Smith started a financial services company that focused on retirement planning as well as oil and gas investments.

Smith, who has a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Texas Lutheran University, brings training in management, leadership and sales to his new role as franchise developer.

"We are excited about the different perspective Clint brings to our team," Thompson said. "In addition to his sports background, we like his team-based philosophy."

Smith's primary responsibility is to award Mr. Rooter Plumbing franchises across North America to new franchise owners. He wants to find and bring in business men and women who are a right fit for the company's professional and customer-centered system as well as its Code of Values™.

"I've known about the good reputation Mr. Rooter and its parent company, The Dwyer Group, has for a long time," Smith said. "I feel good about awarding Mr. Rooter franchises, and you don't get that feeling in a lot of places. Being in the business world, I've dealt with people and businesses that don't follow through like we do."
