Edible Arrangements(R) Announces the Launch of Random Acts of Happiness(R)

New Charity Campaign to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

WALLINGFORD, CT, May 9, 2011 // PRNewswire // — Edible Arrangements®, the leading purveyor of artistically designed fresh fruit arrangements announces the launch of Random Acts of Happiness®, a new non-profit campaign benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters, a national mentoring organization that creates strong relationships that enable children facing adversity to beat the odds. Random Acts of Happiness® is a nationwide program dedicated to raising awareness about happiness, encouraging optimism and celebrating role models and good deeds.

In a recent survey of 2,105 U.S. adults, conducted online by Harris Interactive on behalf of Edible Arrangements, 86% of Americans said that giving back to their community by doing volunteer work or a simple good deed makes them happy, and 89% agreed that giving a gift is a good way to bring happiness to their family and friends. Edible Arrangements® has decided to hone in on the pleasures of both giving and receiving gestures of happiness with the Random Acts of Happiness® campaign (RAOH).

The RAOH campaign will take place online (www.actsofhappiness.com) and in Edible Arrangements® stores from May 2011 through August 2011. During that time, both individuals and groups are invited to enter a nationwide contest and share the actions that participants are taking to promote the importance of spreading happiness throughout one's community.

"We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters for Random Acts of Happiness®," states Steve Thomas, VP of Marketing at Edible Arrangements®. "The organization supports our mission for this program which is to demonstrate that even the smallest gesture or good deed can make an immeasurable impact on an individual's happiness."

Random Acts of Happiness® Competition Components:

  • Random Acts of Happiness® is an online campaign that encourages individuals and groups to upload photos and stories of completed "Random Acts of Happiness" at www.actsofhappiness.com.
  • Any user can view Edible Arrangements® Random Acts of Happiness® gallery which outlines the actions that participants are taking to spread happiness throughout their communities.
  • All visitors are eligible to vote once a day for their favorite individual or group and each vote will trigger a one dollar donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
